We've added a new financial goal to this project. We are eager to hire an intern from a Himalayan region. This intern would work with us to develop new resources for Himalayan people and better engage Himalayan people online.
We're excited to bring God's word in various forms to unreached people groups in the Himalayan region. Our two-pronged approach includes developing and distributing Bible apps for Himalayan language groups and sharing Scripture related posts (videos, Scripture passages on meaningful images, etc.) on social media. Our vision is to prepare these people groups to understand the Gospel when they next meet a Christian. In short, our mission is to prepare the soil across the Himalayan region so that we might see many come to faith and walk closely with Jesus.
A $50 donation will place a Facebook post with Scripture and links to the Bible in specific neighborhoods with high populations of Himalayan people (runs for one week; reaches about 50,000 people).
A $20 donation will pay the subscription fee for our translation and Romanization service that helps us make Scripture and Gospel messages more accessible to the people we are reaching.
A $2,000 donation will purchase the necessary hardware to run our direct messaging outreach.
While not a complete church planting strategy in itself, online outreach is part of our larger strategy that is focused on preparing unreached people so that they will be more receptive to the Gospel. We pray that God will send other believers to share their lives along with the Good News of Jesus. We resonate with Paul when he said, “I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.” (1 Cor 3:6, NIV)
