Hi there! My name is Ben Haddix and along with my wife Sara, we would like tell you about how we have been called by God to serve the people of Japan and to preach the Good News to the Japanese. We are so excited to tell you about our upcoming mission, but first, here is a little bit about us.
I believe in the importance of preparing myself for the ministry that God has called me, and to do that I have studied at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Ministry Leadership. Sara, with a passion to serve the church, has also been diligently studying ministry and Biblical theology through Summit College of Ministry in Waupaca Wisconsin where she has earned her Associate's degree.
Sara is a third generation missionary, having lived on the mission field with her parents in Mexico. In 2019, We were married and moved to Waupaca Wisconsin where we have been trained by Senior Pastor Philip Thompson at Victory Church. We have served in all areas of ministry, such as, organizing connect events, helping with the Youth, running the media for Sundays, and leading Young Adult Bible studies, just to name a few.
We are going to be working with Oversees Missionary Fellowship (or "OMF" for short). This organization was started by Hudson Taylor and serves all over East Asia. Through this organization, we will serve Japanese churches and Pastors by aiding in new church plants and evangelism.
Our goal is to move to Japan full-time in February of 2024! Our first assignment in Japan will be in the city of Sapporo, which is on the island of Hokkaido, the northern most island of Japan. During our first two years there, we will be refining our language skills through OMF's Christian language school and by attending a local Japanese church and submerging ourselves into the Japanese culture.
