Grace Zimmerman was born and raised in the Philippines. She moved to the United States in 1999 after marrying her husband Mark. She has three children: Harmony (24), Rebekah (20), and Zachary (29). She attended Moody Bible Institute and completed an M.A. in Inter-Cultural Studies and a TESOL certificate. Together with her family, they moved to East Asia in 2007 with OMF, where she was active in women's evangelism and discipleship for 14 years, assisting in the charity medical outreach and homeschooling her children. She is excited to be a part of the Candidate Department as a Partnership Development Coach and help prepare our OMF workers to be in God's harvest field.
I was born and raised in Lancaster County, PA (Amish Country), then was in Chicagoland for most of my adult life, where I worked in an inner city clinic as a family medicine doctor for 8 years before leaving for China in 2007 with my wife Grace and three young children. We had planned to serve overseas before we married in the Philippines in 1999. In China, I volunteered at a small charity clinic with other expat providers and traveled to villages to provide care. In 2021, due to the pandemic and our kids’ education, we returned to the USA and are again based in Lancaster, where I’m working in the VA clinic. I am volunteering with OMF as a Home Medical Advisor, Mark D. Zimmerman, MD.
