The Personnel Team is excited to welcome Pam Kaczmarczyk as the next Retiree Care Coordinator. Pam brings 15 years of experience as a former OMF missionary to Taiwan. Her life calling is to know Christ and make Him known. After Taiwan, she earned a Master’s degree in TESOL, worked in a church for 3 years, and taught ESL in a local college for the past 12 years.
Longing to be in a more direct full-time ministry to serve our
Lord, Pam is delighted at the prospect of serving OMF Retirees.
In her spare time, she loves to visit with her Mexican neighbors
teaching English, learning Spanish, and making friends. She also
loves to make healthy foods, especially desserts! Gardening,
oiling (essential oils), and moving (rebounding, walking,
swimming, or biking) are also happy hobbies for her. Pam lives in
Washington State, and has been married to Ed since 2008. Ed is
retired now and has been a blessing to Pam. They enjoy serving in
their local church and really enjoy being involved in 'Alpha' (an
evangelistic outreach) - during COVID through Zoom.
IN Pam's words:
This support is for 25 prayer partners, volunteers, and raising part of my salary so that I can bless the 75 or so retirees who are spread over the whole United States. They are amazing people. As far as I can tell, most serve till about 70. Then they retire, and they volunteer with significant ministry, they slow down after years, and then they need care, and then meet their dear Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
I would like 25 people to commit to pray daily for me as I minister to these awesome retirees. I will be sending out 6 prayer letters a year, and some emergency prayer letters when needed. I was at one missionary's side in the last three days of her life while she was in the hospital a few years ago. It was wonderful to be the recipient of many people's prayers at that critical time.
OMF has a great volunteer program. I have plugged into that. I have a volunteer position listed that would be familiar with resources for the elderly. If someone needs something or is in a transition, we might need some help with understanding about the resources that might be available. Another volunteer position is for people who know the Retirees personally already. They are scattered all over the US. Sometimes I need 'boots on the ground'. Someone who would regularly check in with the Missionary. I am developing another volunter position as an Assistant to do all kinds of things that I could use help with. I have 77 and counting Retirees. Several more are retiring at the end of this year.
Normally the salary for this position has been taken from the support that goes to the Retirees and the Retirees themselves. They have given me 80% for 32 hours from the Retirees fund and the Retirees, and want me to raise 20% more for 8 more hours. Why?
I believe that they have found that people who have prayer partners and financial donors supporting them can see God move in their ministry more. I remember being on the field and experiencing people praying for me. It's the greatest comfort in the world to know that one is being lifted up by prayer. Serving the retirees at maximum capacity would be the greatest blessing giving me more time for one on one communication.
I ask that you prayerfully consider any or all of these opportunities, and don't say yes unless God Himself is prompting you to be involved in this ministry. He loves a cheerful Giver, and always blesses those who give of themselves.
