In 1989 God guided Steve and Kathi to Japan through friendships with Japanese students in Riverside, CA. After 22 years of church planting and teaching in Japan, God surprised them in 2011 by asking them to consider mobilizing in the U.S. --- helping churches to discover their unique role in the Great Commission.
Steve serves as the national director of the OMF Church Missions Consulting team. They come alongside churches who want to build missions interest and develop a clear focus for overseas involvement. Kathi is his executive assistant, helping him prioritize, stay on task , think ahead and develop new ideas.
Steve casts vision for, trains and mentors 18 Church Missions Consultants. The team offers free consultation to pastors and missions committees all over the country. They facilitate trainings on these topics: discerning a church's values, missions goals and plans, missions education, taking care of missionaries, training short term ministry leaders, understanding church planting movements, Bible story telling techniques and so much more!
The Weemes live in Fresno in Central California but their teammates are spread across the U.S. They have 2 married children and 6 delightful grandchildren.
