After teaching for 15 years as a special education teacher, God led Sharon into full-time ministry with OMF in April 2021 as a ministry coach. It has been her great joy to assess, mentor and walk alongside those who are on their journey towards serving East Asians long-term. As of January 2023, Sharon started coordinating short-term trips to East Asia, in addition to her role as a coach. She is so grateful for the opportunity to serve in this capacity with your partnership & support!
Since meeting Steven in December 2019, missions was always something that was important to the both of them. They started considering more intentionally serving on the mission field around November 2021. They started the application process feeling like Abram - not knowing where they would end up, but trusting that God would lead them along the way, to the land where they should go (Genesis 12:1). Through studying Scripture, prayer, and listening to God, the Lord has led them to serve the Chinese diaspora in Mexico. The spiritual needs in Tijuana are so great, as there is currently only one church start-up and one missionary couple among 20,000 to 30,000 Chinese. Steven has been mobilizing church teams, coordinating with some Bay Area churches and partnering with this missionary couple there to reach this unreached people group. Please pray for the Lord to provide all that is needed for our family of three to adjust well in Mexico, starting August 2024.
