I will be traveling to both Tohoku and Hokkaido, June 3-21 as a vision trip in order to see and experience what God has been doing in both regions, and to be open to his possible leading for me in future ministry there. Some information on the Hokkaido trip is as follows:
Hokkaido is considered “the Frontier” of Japan. With a population
of 5 million, it has quite a different feel from the more highly
populated areas of Japan. Churches planted 50 years ago now tend
to be aging and small. There is a great need for a new movement
of God’s Spirit to work and we believe it should start with
prayer!
I will be traveling around to both urban and rural areas of
Hokkaido with a missionary. There will be times praying while
visiting Japanese believers in their churches, as well as in the
unchurched areas they are seeking to reach. With few Christian
workers and with an ageing Japanese society, many churches are
shrinking in size. I look forward to being encouraged by and
being an encouragement to Japanese believers, and also taking
part in these growing movements of prayer so that more and more
might come to know Jesus.
