Serving in Thailand
Hello everyone!
This summer in July 2026 I have been invited to serve at two different conferences in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, Thailand through OMF and Serve Asia. The conferences are week-long events hosting TCKs (third culture kids) and MKs (missionary kids) whose families serve in South East Asia. These conferences happen so that families and their children can have a time of rest, fellowship with one another, and times to strengthen, deepen, and renew their relationships with God.
Growing up as a missionary kid in Thailand, I was able to experience going to the same conferences when I was in elementary and middle school. I remember having so much fun and being so thankful for the volunteers who would give their time and effort to plan these conferences for us to get to know other MKs like ourselves and to also have time for us to grow in our faith and love for God. Now I have been given the opportunity to be a volunteer myself to give back to these MKs and TCKs who will be in the same place that I once was, to care for them and help them see more of God’s love and His Gospel, and to provide space for them to have fun and make long-lasting friendships with people similar to them.
Although I have been chosen to be on the team to serve at these conferences, I unfortunately do not have the finances to pay for the air fare to go to Thailand and to go to Denver for pre-field training. Fortunately, my in-country expenses and training are covered but I still need to pay for my air fare to get to Thailand. Ideally I would be able to afford going on this trip with my own funds as I currently work as a registered nurse in Minneapolis, however I am currently enrolled in an online Masters program studying exercise science and most of my income is going to paying for tuition. I understand that these trips are a privilege and gift that is only made possible through the generosity of others.
If you are led to or would like to, I would really appreciate any type of support you may give me, whether that be through prayers or through finances. I am confident that if God wants me to go on this trip, then He will provide the means for me to do so. Thank you so much!
