About This Project

Hello and welcome to my PartnerHub page! Regardless of how you ended up here, thank you for visiting and I am excited to be able to partner with you as I take this step of faith and obedience to God's calling in my life!

To share a bit of background information about myself, my name is Samuel (or Sam) Kim. I studied Computer Science at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor and graduated May 2018. After graduating, I spent about two years working as a Software Engineer and serving in the children's and undergraduate ministries at my church. As I was praying about what steps to take next towards the end of my two years there, I felt God leading me towards taking a step of faith and serving as a missionary in Japan for a year. This led me to applying to serve as a Serve Asia Worker in Japan. Although there have been a number of delays and curve balls with everything that has been going on, God opened the doors to allow me to arrive in Japan on January 3, 2021 - a day before the borders once again closed due to the state of emergency. Praise the Lord!

After arriving, I have begun serving in the Kanto region with a variety of missionaries. Throughout my time here I am working with JiSP to help churches reach out to their community through sports, joining KGK for a weekly Bible Study to encourage Christians that are currently in college, helping build existing partnerships that my supervisor has with a variety of orgs, and finding ways to get plugged into local churches to build up the believers and reach out to people in the city.
