The Pearl Family Garden began in the red light district of Wanhua, Taipei to minister to sex workers and women marginalized due to poverty, illiteracy and physical or mental illness. Workers offer prayer, counseling, Bible teaching and fellowship. We provide low-income and elderly women an income through part-time work in handicrafts.
Funds will be used to expand our facilities or to find a new location in the neighborhood. We also have plans to employ a local ministry worker experienced in social work.
A few years ago, the Promised Land Women’s Center was started after churches in Keelong observed the work in Wanhua and asked OMF to help them reach women in their area. Our vision is to mobilize churches into red-light districts so that more women can hear the gospel.
Lord, you desire physical, emotional and spiritual restoration for us. Please draw women in Taiwan to the Pearl Family Garden and similar ministries so they can experience your full healing.
