Stephanie was born in Yokosuka, Japan in 1990 to Ron and Amy Barber. Growing up as a missionary kid, she heard the gospel from a young age and started her personal relationship with Jesus at the age of six. Since then, God has continued to grow her understanding of and delight in Him.
God used her experience of growing up in Japan to give her a passion for other cultures, and in her 7th grade year He instilled in her a desire to bring the hope of the gospel to those that were hopeless. Throughout her childhood and into college God continued to grow the heart He has given her for the lost and a passion to share the good news of Jesus with them.
She moved back to the States after graduating from high school where she earned a B.S. in Bible and Intercultural Studies from Columbia International University located in Columbia, South Carolina.
Since graduating, Stephanie has continued to work towards going overseas to work as a missionary. Recently she had the opportunity to work at her church, Midtown Fellowship, as a part of their residency program as the Groups Team Administrator. She was able to help people find church family in Columbia and was trained in how to lead small groups by fostering a community of vulnerability and reliance on Jesus.
She continues to have a heart and passion for sharing the good news of the gospel with the lost and is excited to take this next step with OMF!
