December 2024 Update

December 2, 2024

Bless the Lord, O my soul!

"Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not the good he has done to me, who forgives all your sins and heals all your infirmities, who redeems your life from destruction, who crowns you with grace and mercy. The Lord is merciful, patient, and of great goodness. He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor does he repay us according to our offense. For as high as the heaven is above the earth, he shows his grace towards those who fear him. As far as the rising of the sun is from its setting, so far he removes our transgression from us. As a father takes pity on his children, so the Lord takes pity on those who fear him. Who also did not spare his own son, but has delivered him up for us all and has given us with him all things. In this way, God shows his love toward us, that Christ died for us while we were still sinners. So we will all the more be saved by him from wrath, after we have been justified by his blood. For if we are reconciled to God by the death of his son while we were still enemies, how much more will we be saved by his life, after we have been reconciled to him. Therefore, my mouth and heart shall proclaim the Lord's praise, from now on and forevermore. Amen." - Zacharius Ursinus

Happy Thanksgiving! We are so grateful for each and every one of you that lift us up in prayer and give so faithfully of your resources. Our family had a great Thanksgiving, surrounded by family, friends and of course good food. As we reflect on the goodness of God in our lives, both Hawa and I praise the good gift of the Holy Spirit. This year, the Lord has worked mightily on our hearts and has given us even more praise for the ways he has provided and protected our family. It feels like, this year, our thankfulness runs deeper than the year before and peace and rest abound. We pray that as you spent time with family this last week, that you were also reminded of our good God.

Here are a few updates from us...

Vision Trip:

  • Thank you to all of you who have been praying for our vision trip to Taiwan and have given your finances to help us with plane tickets. We are currently supported 70% for this trip with just over 2 weeks to go (December 15th- January 3rd)
  • As we grow closer to travel, would you please pray that our family would not get sick? We have been battling sickness lately, and would love to have a sick free trip :)
  • Please also pray for Wisdom and Discernment for our family while on this trip. That we may clearly hear the Lord and/ or follow his next steps for us.

College/Adult TCK Christmas party

  • Please pray for the OMF US TCK care team as we host a virtual Christmas party for college/adult TCK's. Pray for good fellowship and deep conversations
