Jan's Dad
Greetings from the Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, area, where Jan and I are here as a result of Jan’s father passing away a week ago today. Up until about four months ago, he had been in fairly good health and was living comfortably at home with his wife Kathy. But a series of small strokes robbed him of much of his cognitive ability, precipitating his moved to an assisted care memory unit about that time. Then, a bad fall two weeks caused a quick decline, resulting in his passing away peacefully last Saturday night. He was 94 years old.
The memorial service will not be for another three weeks, in order to allow some of his grandkids who live further away to be able to attend the service. (One or two of them may come in from Japan…) We ourselves will return to Denver tomorrow and be back at work on Monday, and will then need to return here for the service on August 25.
Meanwhile, our National Conference last week in Denver went very well and was a great blessing. It was also one of the busiest weeks in recent memory for both of us! Thanks so much for remembering our conference in prayer. Tomorrow we will be returning to Denver, where I will have a lot of catching up to do after a full week of two conferences plus this week here in Idaho to be with the family.
Thanks as always for your support and prayers!
Barry (and Jan)
