First Week
Wow!
I have been in Thailand for over a week now and I starting to get settled. I am living in a house with a roommate for the next three months. I have my own room and bathroom which is such a blessings. My travel was smooth up until the last flight where we flew through some storms. The Lord was able to provide me peace during the trip, even though I was afraid.1 My body is still adjusting to the food, climate, and culture.
My roommate and I have been getting along great and have both enjoyed exploring our city. We have been laughing quite a bit together. We are taking Thai classes together and our teacher is a Thai Christian who is called to help missionaries to learn Thai. We haver been going through lots of orientation and prayer meetings. It has been incredible to pray FOR the nations WITH the nations. I met some missionaries from a close nation who are here to learn how to share their faith since training is very difficult in their nation. I am so lucky to meet them and pray for them.
We are working on preparing for conferences for the missionary kids or TCKs (Third Culture Kids). We also have started tutoring this week with a Dutch family who is serving here in Thailand. I am excited to see how the Lord will be using me in these next few months.I have also been prayerful in my neighborhood. We are trying local restaurants- one is called "Uncle Mustache Steak" in Thai! I am really enjoying the exploration.
Prayer Requests:
- Pray that I will grow a Thai Pallet
- Pray that I will pick up the language I need for daily life
- Praise God for bringing me here safely
- Praise God for binging my roommate and I together for this time
- Pray that I will connect with my neighbors
- Pray that I will make Thai friends
- Pray as our team prepares for conferences
- Pray that I will continue to know that God is near when I feel lonely and miss home
Thank you for your support and let me know how I can pray for you!
