follow up on "Prayer Needed this Week" and Other Needs
April 22, 2021
Dear Friends,
Thank you so much for praying! Some have
let me know that you are praying, and oh how
that encourages my soul. In my last
email, I didn't write about OMF work so here
are 4 prayer requests for
that:
- to feel refueled and to find joy in Jesus –working by myself without an office/team of people around me can be very draining for me as I’m an extrovert. Just today I talked to a woman who works at a missions office about 10 minutes from here and she said that she would ask to see if I could office there - what a blessing that could be and open up some networking with another likeminded organization.
- I and a friend (Hwee Joo) facilitate a virtual course on Practical Child Safety on May 20 and 27 for all of our Child Safety Officers around the world - pray that they would be able to attend and grab on to the training and pass it on to their families/fields – that it might be useful to them, and prevent child maltreatment.
- “Flow of Training” – an Educator friend of mine Moira is heading up a project to work with various people on thinking through training for parents/kids for pre-field, orientation to field training, Home assignment etc. That God would bring this together in a timely way and that it would be useful for the homesides and fields to help our families thrive.
- I’m working on a Universal Training project with Child Safety Protection Network that would provide child safety training for prefield, on field, home assignment for any organization that is part of CSPN. (Currently there are 119 missions orgs and international schools in CSPN.) We are just at the foundational stages of thinking this through and it needs a lot of work and God’s wisdom, direction.
Both of these last 2
projects seem huge and almost impossible, but
our God is
big!
Wow! So thankful for how
God worked as you prayed. The meeting
with Katherine on Monday was wonderful.
She had a lot of good questions, and seemed
very open as we discussed things she had
encountered as she read the book of Mark.
Please pray for God to continue to work in her
life.
The Bible study on
Wednesday was another big encouragement.
2 women that I wasn't expecting joined the
others and most of them had a name of someone
they are prayerfully planning to invite to join
our study - someone who is less biblically
educated. Please pray that God will draw
these women. That they would be willing
to come and "try it out" and see that they can
study the Bible for themselves and grow and
learn about God and His plans. It is
wonderful to meet with women and study the Word
of God
together!
Another woman named Pam
is not able to attend on Wednesday mornings,
but she lives in a condo community with a lot
of folks in their 70s-90s and has a ministry of
helps there. I encouraged her to start
the book of Mark study there with my help and
she is prayerfully considering that.
Please pray!
As for Scott, today he is
faithfully continuing the online training
process with the convenience store.
Hopefully, tomorrow will be more fun as he will
begin the actual job. On Saturday he'll
train at his security job (after a whole week
of online training last week to get a security
license) and start on
Monday.
Please do send me your
prayer requests and I will
pray.
