Needing prayer - Adult MK meeting today
Dear Friends,
I should have written earlier, but thankfully if you get this
after the Adult MK meeting today and pray about it, God knows you
will pray and He is outside of time so I think it all works for
His Kingdom :)
We are having our second Adult MK meeting today for MKs in our village and perhaps one or two of their MK friends. My emotions have been all over the place today and although there are a number of reasons why that could be so, I wonder if part of it is spiritual warfare. Will you pray with me for our meeting (4:30-5:30 or 6 p.m. Eastern time), that God will use it to bring help and encouragement and healing to these Adult MKs? (I call them Adult MKs because they were kids on the mission field, but now they are in their 60s, 70s, 80s.)
To give you a bit of insight as you pray, I've been reading a book called Third Culture Kids: A Gift to Care For by Ulrika Ernvik. From that book, these are some of the questions we will be discussing today:
For adult TCKs - what needs did not get met as a child? - How
do you think that affected you? - Do you still have unmet needs?
- Who can you ask for help to meet these needs now? - Is there
anything you can do yourself?
As you look back on your childhood, what are your memories of
belonging or not belonging? How do you think that has affected
you? When do you feel like you belong or not belong now? - Are
there ropes you need to tie or untie?
In what situations do you feel different than those around you?
How do you react when you feel different? - How did you react as
a child? How do you react now? - Are there still situations in
which you feel different? - How would you describe yourself?
Thanks for caring. It is wonderful to know that we are not alone in this.
Blessings,
Jennifer
