MOVING FORWARD WITH IN-PERSON OUTREACH AND ACTIVITIES
- In the last several weeks, we've started doing more in-person outreach and fellowship events in addition to our online and phone meetings, such as canoeing, fishing, hikes, and strawberry-picking (PHOTO ABOVE). We are being blessed to have some great conversations as many of our international friends are experiencing loneliness and craving social interaction (for examples of some of our outdoor activities lately, click on some of the blue links below, which are the titles of our updates).
- This week our team will begin to hold in-person meetings outdoors at a local apartment complex which houses thousands of internationals. About half of our international friends are comfortable with meeting in-person now, while some of them still wish to meet solely over Zoom or phone. So we plan to continue with dual formats for the foreseeable future.
- “You should come to the Tuesday night Bible discussion on Zoom,” Dr. H told Dr. Z after our strawberry-picking event! I was very encouraged to hear Dr. H say this to a fellow visiting professor, since Dr. H himself is still seeking, but seems very close to making a decision to follow Jesus. Dr. Z seemed glad for the invitation, and said he would start attending this week!
