Apple Picking, Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch
One aspect of America which all internationals we've ever met want to experience is American culture when it pertains to food, especially seasonal or holiday-related food. "What's more American than apple pie?!" you've heard it said. Well, perhaps picking your own fresh apples right off the tree at a local orchard, and then making your own pies, crisps, apple sauce and so forth would even be more traditionally American than store-bought apple pie! This turned out to be a pretty large outreach event for our IFC (International Friendship Center) team and for our ISM (international student ministry) team. We had the privilege of getting to meet several new students from Asia and Latin America during this event. When we share life with internationals, it inevitably leads to good conversations, and opportunties to invite them to join us for our Zoom and in-person Bible discussions.
