Stressors but Grace and Strength for the Journey
Fun campfire-building contest at a recent outreach event...
Honestly, these last couple of months have been one of the most difficult and stressful seasons of our lives: December was our daughter’s school experiencing a shooting, a heart attack and open heart surgery for one of our teammates, the tragic car accident death of the sister of one of our international friends, and then our older daughter’s recent knee/patella dislocation Feb. 1. I can't say that I've always been able to manage the stress without it causing me to lose sleep or fall into worry or fear.
However, in spite of all the crises within our ministry team and international community, God has been so faithful, loving, and good to us – beyond what we could ask or imagine. Through our weakness in struggling to cope and be able to handle stressor after stressor, He has truly shown us that His power is made perfect in our weakness (2 Cor. 12). We have been forced to lean upon Him and rely on Him more than ever before, and we’ve seen Him working and moving in the lives of people from many nations as a remnant come to know Jesus. Not only are several new seekers attending Bible discussions, three internationals have believed for the first time in the last couple months, and that makes everything we do in ministry worth the costs involved.
