Apple-Picking, Baking & Campfire Storytelling

Each year, the new fall university semester is a busy time of year, full of our team trying to follow up with as many new international students as possible. We meet many through the Tour of Madison and other outreach events (campfires, BBQs, events at local parks, etc.), and then it's a gradual process of reconnecting, having conversations, and making sure everyone who's interested gets a chance to hear the Good News and be a part of a small group Bible discussion. This apple picking event at a local orchard and farm was one such activity.
After apple-picking, we took students back to a local family's house. They opened their home graciously and generously to dozens of internationals and local volunteers. I got to lead an apple crisp baking workshop for many who had never baked an American dessert with apples before (PHOTO BELOW).
After baking apple crisp, we enjoyed a campfire, roasting hot dogs and marshmallows, and our host shared some narratives from the Gospels around the campfire. (PHOTO BELOW - preparing the campfire)
